Thanks for the very descriptive report of the MPEG-4 problems. This will help us diagnose what's going on.

Has anybody had a chance to look at the MPEG-2 file? I'm interested to know if it plays okay and if anybody has made a DVD with the file yet.

I haven't tried the MPEG-2, but I get a similar result with the MPEG-1 in both WinDVD and Virtual Dub in XP. There's a jump cut at 7:53 and then the sluggish video starts and soon after the audio is about 30 seconds ahead of the video.

The MPEG2 of Reefer Madness is fine, the MPEG4 isn't.

I'm using QT 6.0.3 on Macintosth System Software 9.2.2

OK both the MPEG1 and 4 of DOA are bad. The 1 less so.

PS. I haven't tried the MPEG2 because it's HUGE.
